Arrivano, puntuali come un orologio le nomination ai SAG 2009, i premi istituiti dal sindacato degli attori e immancabilmente vengono nominati i soliti noti.
Anche questa volta, dominano 30 Rock, Mad men e John Adams con 3 candidature, ai quali si aggiunge un sorprendente Boston Legal, che piazza ben due del proprio cast tra i candidati come miglior attore di serie tv drammatica. Bene anche Dr. House, Dexter e The Office, che ambiscono al riconoscimento di miglior serie e a quello per il miglior attore.
Tra gli attori, i nomi importanti ci sono tutti, da Kiefer Sutherland a Sally Field, da America Ferrera a Paul Giamatti, da Duchovny a Hugh Laurie, da Cristina Applegate ad Alec Baldwin, fino a scomodare Ralph Fiennes, Kevin Spacey Shirley Mclaine e Susan Sarandon, ad esclusione, sorprendente, di tutti i personaggi di Lost e Grey’s Anatomy.
